Top 5 Future Classics
1.     The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins.  I think this will be considered a classic one day because it takes a look at what is popular in our society.  It’s a commentary on reality television and how we love to watch it, we’re desensitized by violence.
2.     A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin is an epic fantasy full of adventure, political intrigue, and is the closes to how Medieval society really was.  Like Tolkien, Martin creates a world full of politics, beliefs, cultures, races, and languages.  Also despite the length this much more accessible than Lord of the Rings.  The first book a “Game of Thrones” was published in 1996 and is still popular today.  There is even a television showed based on books
3.     Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling.  This story got a lot kids to read and people even discuss it and analyze still.  The book made a great impact on the 90s generation and they still love it today thanks to the movies.
4.     The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  The Holocaust is still a time in history that effects and impacts people.  This is a beautiful story about a German girl surviving that time period history, and the book offers so much to look at and discuss.

5.     IT by Stephen King.  Besides the fact it’s by the King of Horror, pun intended, but this book is the epitome of horror.  The monster is fear itself and mostly takes the form of a clown.  It looks at the most vulnerable time in a humans life and shows how your fears can follow you well into adulthood.
