Galavant

I just finished watching the two seasons of Galavant from ABC Studios.  It was a cute, funny, exciting, sweet, adventurous story.  It tells the story of a noble knight by the name of Galavant, and who got rejected by his long time lady love, Magdalena, who chooses the rich King Richard, over Galavant.   Galavant is given a chance to win Magdalena back from Richard by helping Princess Isabella save her kingdom from Richard and Magdalena who invaded it.  Galavant, Isabella, and Galavant's squire, Sid, go on a quest, but it is revealed that Isabella is also doing this because Richard has threatened to kill her parents if she doesn't bring Galavant back to Valencia, her kingdom.  Along the way Isabella starts to fall in love with Galavant and Galavant learns he's a bit of an arrogant jerk that needs to be more humble.
   Meanwhile Magdalena has realized Richard isn't as appealing as she thought and tries to ignore him.  Richard tries everything he can to win her over with encouragement from his right hand man, Gareth.  To deal with her marriage she starts to have a fling with the court jester.  You'll have to watch to hear the rest.
  The series is fun with comedy, music, singing, dancing, mixed together with an Arthurian type legend.  It has excellent characters that grow and evolve throughout the story, and who doesn't love a musical parody?  The songs are very catchy and fun to dance to, and there are some great stars, like Rutgar Haur as Richard's older brother, who tries to steal the kingdom.   The comedy is fun and silly, but also has a maturity to it, so its one that Adults and kids can watch.  Its on Netflix's so if you aren't sure if it interests you can watch on there.
