ToP 5 Fictional Jobs

This is my top 5 jobs from fiction I would like to have.  This mostly consists of jobs from television show, but of course some jobs from books too. Top 5 Fictional Jobs 1.      A Timelady like the Doctor.   To have all that knowledge and be able to travel through time and space would be such an awesome job.   And I would get my own Tardis.   What more can could you want? 2.      A Magician like in the Magicians trilogy.   I wouldn’t want to be the human that ends up having to rule Fillory—too much pressure--, but would love to have magic and visit Fillory.   I just realized this isn’t technically a job, but I’m going to count it. 3.      A Hogwarts professor.   I’m not sure if I could be a professor, but to work at Hogwarts would be so fun.   This is basically being a magician, but under a different name, and being a teacher at a school from preteens to adults.   Brakebills is college level. 4.      A Woman of Letters.   This was a profession introduced in season eight, I

Top 5 Non-Written Stories

Top 5 ‘Non-Written’ Novels I have only “read” two audio books that I barely remember, so it wouldn’t be fair to mentioned them, but I have read a few graphic novels.   I’m also a fan of fanfiction, but most of those aren’t finished, so most of these might be fanfiction.   I’ll post the links to the authors of the FF’s I mention. 1.       I used to  love the show Once Upon a Time, but the direction it has taken has disappointed me greatly, but I still love reading and writing fanfiction for it.   I have several friends who write amazing Fanfictions that gives fans the quality writing they deserve in the show, but don't get.   Number One for me would be “The Unexpected Saga”.  "This Doesn't Have to be Love" and "Unexpected Surprise" are the first two  this of Fanfictions. This is basically an AU story about the characters and the curse.   Belle becomes Baelfire’s caretaker and teacher, there’s still the Rumbelle romance, and Belle has a half-sister who

Book Snobbery

The one thing I can't stand is book snobbery!  People who think that because they read the book they're a better fan, or because they have read classics, like Shakespeare, they're a superior reader.  Now, I'm reading classics, because some of them I really love, but the writing style is a lot to read and sometimes hard to understand.   Sometimes I read them because I feel obligated to read the classics outside of a school lesson plan, but only a handful I enjoy.  Screen adaptations often make it easier to get the basics of the plot and make it easier to understand.  In the 19th century (1800s), the writers were paid by the word so they wrote a lot of descriptions and now it's just too much to read. Also just because George RR Martin's series has vulgar language and sex doesn't mean Tolkien's work is superior to Martin's.  It just means Martin is blunt and not as poetic as Tolkien, and plot is NOT just the vulgar language and the sex.  It's poli

Top 5 Trends You're Tired of in Fiction

This weeks top 5 is trends you're tired of in books.  Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey from Ginger Reads Lainey and is now hosted by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. Goodreads link: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday Top 5 Trends You’re Tired of Seeing in Books (This is just my opinion) There are so many books about the misunderstood or monstrous vampire.  Don’t get me I wrong I used to love those plots too like Twilight, which I still have a soft spot for, and House of Night series.  I still love Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but every time I see book with a title like Thirst, Seduced by Darkness, or something like that I’m immediately turned off, though I do read the back just to see.  To me it’s all the same: mortal woman, rarely a man, is seduce by mysterious sexy vampire, or another variation being the vampire school.   She may be a vampire too, but she still falls for the sexy older male vampire.  The plot, to me is over used with only a few small d
