Jacksprat Gets Lost in Fiction

 What this is about? This is a collection of three short stories about spiritualism and good moral values. "Three Simple Men" is about 3 simple men living on an island and they are seen by a passing ship with three priests.  They priest decide to teach these men to pray the right way to God. "A Godson Learns to Fight Evil" is about a young man seeing all the evil through a door he is told not to open.  His Godfather tells him he most learn how to fight evil. "One Neglected Spark May Burn Down a House" two families who are friends having a misunderstanding resulting in a feud.  One of the family patriarch tries to warn his own family, but it is not easy. My Thoughts This is an endearing collection of three stories originally retold by Leo Tolstoy and this is translated by Jon M. Sweeney. I want read another Stephen King, so I can have a better update on my King project.  Skyward is my YA SciFi and I need to catchup with my fantasy starting with Strange the Dreamer and The Great Hunt.  No historical fiction this month.

  Interrupt me when I am reading to ask what the novel is about. Ask me, how I can  separate the plots of all the books I read when they see I read multiple books at the same time. Praise me for being a reader at such a young age. Start a conversation while I'm reading. When family members don't want to give me books for Christmas or my Birthday, because  they think it's boring.

  Current Reads: Bleak House by Charles Dickens.  On page 422 Home Work: A Memoir of my Hollywood Years by Julie Andrews Edwards Page  83 I find memoirs are easy non-fiction to read, so far.   This is my first nonfiction for Non-Fiction November.   I'm already 83 pages and find myself reading this quickly, but it does help I'm interested in this person.  Julie Andrews is such an interesting person and I would enjoy hearing her stories.  I just would love to hang out and have tea.  

I am continuing with pursuing my goal to read more classics this year.  I have read up 7 classics this year if I counted right.  The first classic I read is O Pioneers by Willa Cather, and I currently have My Antonia by her thanks to my sister.  It is a pretty good book with a simple plot during the time of the American Frontier during the early 1900s.  A young woman sacrifices her personal life to take of the family farm and family, but her brothers do not think she should be the one running it.  It's not a long story and has an accessible writing style. I listened to the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time on audio book.  It is a bit strange since I only know the story via the movies.  After O Pioneers, I read Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy.  The writing was good but something that happens to children was a bit too much for me to read.  I started the Barsetshire series by Anthony Trollop by reading The Warden in February. ...

Currently in April I'm participating the O.W.Ls Readathon hosted by G at Book Roast Booktube channel for the first time. I picked the career path of Magizoologists.  I have read the Graphic novel "The War of Jokes and Riddles" Vol. IV (Potions: Shrinking solution- a book that is under 150 pages.), Godsgave by Jay Kristoff (Charms- Lumos Maximus-a book with a white cover.), Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibanez (Care of Magical Creatures: Hippogriff- a book with a book on the cover.), On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King (Arithmancy- a book out of your favorite genre.), and I'm reading Merciful Crow by  Margaret Owen (Herbology: Mimbus Mimbletonia- A book that starts with the letter "M").  I'm also reading Black Powder War by Naomi Novik for the Seminar Dragon Training.  I would also like to get to The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton for the prompt Defense Against the Dark Arts: Grindylow--a book that takes place at the coast or by the water, a...
